Converting a Imperial from 2 speed PowerFlite transmission to 3 speed Torqueflite.
Customer asked if we could put a 3 speed Torqueflite in his Imperial so he could drive it more. No problem, we can handle it.
Obtained a donor transmission, and since bellhousing bolt patterns are not the same, we needed to drill out marking lines and cut the old bellhousing off.
Custom bellhousing brackets and flex plate are needed so the later model transmission would bolt up. We contacted our friends at Wilcap Products to see if they could help us out, and they provided all the pieces needed.
Transmission rebuilt, and custom bellhousing adapter bolted to transmission.
Custom mounts needed to be fabricated to hold engine in place while transmission was being swapped out.
